Church and Congregation Voting Software

MeetingPulse is church voting software for congregational meetings, board and elder elections, budget approvals, and the vote to call a pastor. It works for churches, synagogues, mosques, and any faith community that makes decisions by member vote. Members in good standing receive a personal ballot link, vote from any phone in one tap, and results stay private until leadership chooses to share them.

Upload your membership roll once and reuse it for every congregational meeting of the year.

Why congregational votes deserve better than a show of hands

Congregational decisions are among the most consequential and most personal votes any organization holds. The friction is real:

Membership matters

Only members in good standing vote, and the definition lives in your constitution or bylaws. Visitors and non-member attendees are in the room, and the ballot has to know who is who.

Some votes must be secret

Calling a pastor, approving a compensation package, or removing a leader cannot be a public raise of hands without damaging relationships.

Many congregations require a defined share of members to conduct business. Counting the room while people arrive late is guesswork.

Hybrid worship became hybrid meetings

Members who join the annual meeting from home expect to vote alongside those in the sanctuary.

Older members

A meaningful share of the congregation is not comfortable with apps, accounts, or passwords.

Paper ballots take an hour to count and cannot include remote members. Survey tools cannot restrict voting to members. MeetingPulse was built to handle the membership roll, the secret ballot, and the hybrid room together.

Upload the membership roll

Export your members in good standing from your church management system as a spreadsheet with names and emails. Upload it once. Turn on unique access codes so each member receives one ballot and no one can vote twice. Prepare each motion in advance: the budget, the slate of elders, the pastoral call. Keep them closed until the moderator opens each item.

Members receive an email with a personal voting link. Clicking it takes them straight to the ballot. No account to create, nothing to install, no password to remember.

Open each vote from the floor

When the moderator calls the question, open the ballot. Members in the sanctuary and members on Zoom vote from their phones at the same moment. For members without a smartphone, a helper at a welcome table enters that member’s personal access code on a shared tablet, and the member casts their own vote right there. Same ballot, same count, and the code still works only once.

Watch participation build so the moderator knows when the vote can close. Results stay hidden from the congregation until leadership decides whether and how to announce them.

Export participation and results for the church council minutes. Congregations vote at the annual meeting, at special meetings called for a pastoral search, and whenever the constitution requires member approval. Rebuilding the voter list each time is how a member gets left off the ballot.

Upload the membership roll once. When new members join after a membership class, add them. When members transfer or pass away, remove them.
