Virtual Corporate event reaches over 94% participation in its sales kickoff event using MeetingPulse

The Challenge

The strategic goals of a large computer networking company relied on producing a successful global sales kickoff that would gather participants from several continents and many time zones. Even more challenging, in the past, they’d only successfully put on events that were 100% in person, while this event would have to be 100% remote. And their previous rates of engagement in sales kickoffs hovered at under 5%.

The company’s virtual event producer was Kinetic Creations. And Kinetic Creations turned to the unmatched virtuosity that event planners can only get from the feature-rich platform of MeetingPulse.

Kinetic saw that with MeetingPulse’s digital capability, they could ask more questions and stimulate more responses and ideation than in any in-person meeting that lacked a similar digital platform.

Our biggest initial challenge was identifying the technology to support our clients’ broad array of needs, from complex functionality to custom branding and attendee experience. “We factored in not only engagement, but gamification, to incentivize attendees to participate. This included individual prizes following each question, as well as grand prizes for the overall point earners.

We were sure to award points for engaging - not just for getting something correct - so we wouldn’t discourage participation.”

Session quizzes consisting of 5 questions each, run immediately after the session ended with the goal of reinforcing content

During the Awards segment, a trivia question about each winner was run as each winner was announced (i.e. “What was John’s first job?”)

Challenger trivia (one of the main topics of the meeting was a sales strategy called Challenger, so this segment of questions was to reinforce key info)

Translation tool for translating free-text polls and Q&A to English (Half of the conference was based in Asia)

Following the event, in addition to the raffle winners, 8 grand prizes were given away to the individuals with the highest overall scores

Results

Together, Kinetic and MeetingPulse delivered an astonishing 94% engagement from the event’s participants, collected thousands of real-time responses to inform stakeholders, and scored an 8.3 Net Promoter Score from the attendees.
