The strategic goals of a large computer networking company relied on producing a successful global sales kickoff that would gather participants from several continents and many time zones. Even more challenging, in the past, they’d only successfully put on events that were 100% in person, while this event would have to be 100% remote. And their previous rates of engagement in sales kickoffs hovered at under 5%.
The company’s virtual event producer was Kinetic Creations. And Kinetic Creations turned to the unmatched virtuosity that event planners can only get from the feature-rich platform of MeetingPulse.
Kinetic saw that with MeetingPulse’s digital capability, they could ask more questions and stimulate more responses and ideation than in any in-person meeting that lacked a similar digital platform.
“When COVID19 hit in 2020, we had to adapt and shift our strategy to supporting virtual events as well. Our biggest initial challenge was identifying the technology to support our clients’ broad array of needs, from complex functionality to custom branding and attendee experience. Beyond that, creating an engaging experience that felt as much like a live event as possible was particularly challenging.
Bringing people together, making them feel seen and heard, and gauging whether or not they received the key takeaways intended from each event are difficult things to do when everyone is attending from behind a screen.”
Creating the Agenda
Kinetic designed the sales kickoff to include:
“We factored in not only engagement, but gamification, to incentivize attendees to participate. This included individual prizes following each question, as well as grand prizes for the overall point earners.
We were sure to award points for engaging - not just for getting something correct - so we wouldn’t discourage participation.”
Announced winners as they were pulled, following each trivia question or other opportunity to win
Used Announcements to guide users throughout the platform, i.e. “Click this button to join the next session” or “See you back here in an hour after the break”
